This year my mantra is ... Less is More.
I plan to do the following.....
Eat less food.
Spend less money.
Collect less stuff.
Waste less time.
My husband and I are on the verge of being empty nesters and are now having serious conversations about downsizing. As I stare at my closet every morning, I remind myself that I need to start getting rid of some clothes and shoes. I read an article which suggested every time you get something new, you should rid yourself of something else. I am taking it one step further. I have made the commitment to get rid of at least 3-5 things a day. Whether it is clothing, shoes, books, magazines, makeup, hair products or anything else I have too much of, the journey has begun. Today I got rid of my collection of gift bags and store tote bags. Why did I save them anyway? Tomorrow I will tackle my office. When I am brave enough I will to tackle the junk drawer in the kitchen and then the closet.
My biggest challenge of all will be the dreaded storage room in the basement, where I have an overgrown collection of Christmas wrapping paper and wired ribbon, not to mention the boxes of books and some of the kids belongings. Oh my, I'm tired already. I will have to put together a plan and a schedule.
So, how will less mean more for me? If I spend less, I will have more money. If I eat less, I will have more energy. If I collect less stuff, I will have more room. If I waste less time, I will get more accomplished. Finally, if I worry less, life will be more fun.
I'm excited, thinking about my upcoming accomplishment when I can truly say...
Less is More!
